ok, it ran fine for about 10 mins

I got the new TP sensor in there and a new battery since my last one was dead. It fixed my problem and it ran OK, a little rough with exhaust popping, until it did the old stall type feeling. it isnt set to a certain rpm, but it gets better when I change something, then goes right back to where it was before. My other posts about this problem are :

I am starting now to think it almost has to be the opti or a tooth off on the timing set, which I dont see how you can do that, but I guess its worth checking? I just hate to take off the water pump if I don't have to, I just got the coolant bled

but any advice is helpful, I cant really get it up to get it scanned, it just about dies and makes it hard to go the speed limit even.

thanks

It would seem more likely that something less mechanical has changed. A connection issue, wire shorted or broke or burned like O2 wires on a header. If your going to continue to keep a Hi-po engine, it would be a wise investment to get some equipment to be able to see sensor data in real time.

ya, im about to get my mom's old laptop in 2 weeks so I can datalog it... they are going on a cruise tho tomorrow so its too late to get it before they go. The o2 sensor on the pass side is kind of burnt where the connection is... I am thinking this very well could be it... which one is bank 1? This o2 when I last scanned it was bouncing around like crazy... I think that must be the one that is the problem... I will replace it later today and cross my fingers.

thanks for the reply... if I have to wait for the data logger I will, but thanks for the help.

Bouncing around is normal. Not bouncing is wiring or sensor or PCM.

ok, the one not bouncing around is the driver side (sensor 2). I unplugged the O2s and it runs right about the same. How would I rule out O2s besides buying one and installing it? I am vey close to buying an opti, but want to rule out plug wires/o2s

thanks again
