i went with the Amsoil 10w30 (and amsoil filter) because im in florida, and it never gets below 50, except maybe one or two days out of the year.
would there be any benefit to going 5w30 next time?

If most of your driving is in warmer weather, then the 10w30 would perform pretty much just the same as the 5w30. But for those days when it does get cooler out, the 5w30 will flow faster on startup. For that reason alone I'd be inclined to recommend using their 5w30 all year round. It can handle the heat just as well as 10w30 will, as Amsoil 5w30 does not thin out under hard use. It's one of the most stable oils out there.
