I use Valvoline 10w30 (High Mileage) (5 quarts) motor oil and I use Castrol Dexron III ATF tranny fluid and I just dropped the pan and changed the fluid and filter and it took 5 quarts. If you drain the entire trans. and torque converter It'll take about 10 quarts, but I assume your just going to drop the trans. pan like I did. I would worry about using synthetic oils in a older car with miles on it, I have had no problems at all in mine and it has 116K.
