oil in throttle body

I was messing with my intake elbow today and noticed oil in the TB. I've done a little research and do not know what could be the issue.

I've replaced my pcv valve last year. I guess it's coming from the ccv hose...is this relatively normal? Is removing the ccv and replacing it with a breather a good idea? Or can a filter be added to the hose to prevent as much oil going in to the throttle body?

Please provide pics of your setups if you have done any such mods and explain how each could affect my LT1 engine, either positively or negatively. Part numbers and places to buy fixes are highly appreciated.

(side notes: no driveability issues, just a slight oil leak that i know is NOT from behind the intake manifold or valve covers...possibly rms)

If you dug a little deeper you would know that most people have at least some oil from that hose. You would also find info about breathers (bad idea, IMHO) and inline catch cans and how people did it. It seems to be discussed often. The information is out there.

so for the most part, it's nothing to be worried about (probably 1/2 tsp or less)? @ shoebox, stay away from breathers....what is your opinion of catch cans?

I would think any kind of oil collection system would be acceptable as long as hose vacuum was retained and there was no unmetered air included.

Catch cans are fine. They trap the oil and let the PCV system function as it is supposed to.
