Power Loss, oil shooting out of dipstick, all my other problems and tests

Well i've been trying to find out why my car feels like it has the same hp as before I did the h/c install, double checked the timing chain, its dead on and in the right key. Put new stock lifters in because the comp R's had a few tops fall out, adjusted them to 1/4 past 0, still nothing feels the same as it did with the broken comps in. It's starting to smoke blue so I guess its getting some blowby, it only does it sometimes though. But when it is smoking and I rev it, oil comes shooting out of the dipstick tube also and sprays all over the headers. I checked my pcv and its fine. it idles fine however, and runs almost exactly the way it did before the h/c cam install, which was right around 106 traps. I dont know whats going on. Am I doomed?

Also I havent had it on a dyno, but i thought it should feel faster than it is.

Tests done- Fuel pressure, held about 38-39 at redline with the guage taped to the window

Things that have been replaced- plugs and wires autolite 104 gapped by me at .40, new wires, new coil, new opti b/c the old one got cracked

sounds like bad rings or busted piston. you should do a compression check.

My old Toyota did the same thing. Rings were shot. Had to rebuild it, so I put a whole bunch of stickers under the hood and now I've got 15 more hp.

the pcv might not be able to bleed off enough crankcase pressure. try a breather on the valvecover.

I had a hole in my piston the size of bottle cap and it still drove, but when I laid into it, it blew the dipstick out

If u have smoke coming out the exhaust then it could be either piston rings or your valve seals. As far as oil coming out the dip stick tube, I remember reading a thread a little while back about someone having the same problem, try and do a search and see if u can find it.

Yea i did a search before i posted, his problem was his pcv, mine still rattles. I have a breather on the cover and it is still hooked up to the TB, i tried with it unhooked and hooked no dice. Also when i put the heads on, the pistons looked fine, could something have happened since to put a hole in it? The valve seals should be fine, the heads have like 1500 miles on them.

ok did a vacuum check on the car, pulls about 12-13lbs, but my idle is weird it jumps up and down, but when it went up the vacuum went up too to like 15lbs. This is another lil issue ive been having, when i adjust the idle screw and get the tps in the right ranges and the car is idling fine, if i shut it off, when i turn it back on the idle gets screwy again and the car wont run.

Re: oil shooting out of dipstick= rebuild?

Could a bad MAF sensor cause any of this, i have a stupid granatelli that came with the car, ive had a code of MAF circuit failure or something like that, also a code that bank 1 or 2 is lean, cant remember. When my friend scanned the car the blm's were also split severely. Im gonna ask him to borrow the scanner and record some of the readings. I also get a code that comes up sometimes when im at idle but once i start driving it goes away again, i dont know which one it is the MAF or the lean code because i dont have a scanner on the car at all times.

Are you sure it's blue smoke? If it is at this point I would do a compression check on all cylinders . According to the results it could be rebuild time.

Re: oil shooting out of dipstick= rebuild?

Also some extra info that might be of help . My stroker was also spewing oil out the dip stick at high rpms but not at lower rpms. My fix which is not recommended for a daily driven car was to install an evac system working off the headers. Any excess pressure buildup it would be sucked out the exhaust and no more dip stick flying off. I had to seal off my valve covers to get a good vacuum pull that the headers create. I will state it again it is not recommended for a street driven vehicle although I did drive mine on the street daily.

Re: oil shooting out of dipstick= rebuild?

yea it was only at about 3 or 3.5k and up so basically WOT situations, i wonder if a head gasket could do it. the head gaskets i got from combination motorsports were different from the ones that were on the car, the ones on the car also had lil metal rings around the cylinders which the new felpro did not. the holes were all the same just some were different sizes.
