Oil problem, gauge or engine, questions...

Hey all,

We have a 94 Z added to the group of F-bodies, and are having some problems. And I know this is where to come first

Anyway, it has about 102k miles on it. We are having oil leaking from somewhere in the front, and somewhere in the rear. I am guessing timing chain cover and rear main seal???

The other bad problem is that Sat. night, we were pulling into our road, and his oil pressure went to 0. He pulled over, and started to cut off the car, but then, the guage went RIGHT BACK to normal. Is this an elec. problem??? Or is something really wrong w/ the sending unit, or oil pump???

BTW, it will leak about half an ounce or so overnight. We check it every time before it is driven. Anyway, just wanted to get some diagnosis from some of you on here first.

We appreciate it

TAI!

Sounds more like an oil level or pickup problem. The gauge wire would have to be grounding out for it to cause the gauge to read 0.

Pull the oil pan and get your pickup fixed.
