I want an Ignition system

I am planning to put an ignition system in on my 93 formula. I have doen that search and heard good things about accel. I have heard good and bad about MSD, and I haven't head much about crane.

I know a lot of people wouldn't recommend an ignition for a basically stock car, but I believe that it is a good place to start and that every mod after that would yield better results.

I have heard that Aftermarket ignitions burn up optis. Is this true? My car has 78000 miles, would it fry mine?

I am leaning towards an MSD digital 6 plus. I want the box and the standard blaster coil made for GM dual connector. Is there anything else I need besides the Digital 6 plus box, the blaster dual connector coil, and the wiring harness?

Anything else I would need to know about this?

Get the Delteq system to eliminate the Opti and convert over to coil packs. It is a really nice setup. I am glad I did mine.

The Delteq unit doesn't completely eliminate the Opti, atleast not yet.

You wont have any significant HP gains, just better idle and maybe acouple of miles per gallon.....

I have an Accel 300+ on my 93Z and didnt notice a difference.. Its disconnected now, saving up for the Delteq...

.

I like my MSD stuff. You have a M6 I see. Gears would be a better mod for your $$ probably. Gears would make more of a noticable gain for the $$ in your car I bet.

the ignition box is really not needed in this case. I think if you want most of the benefits, just get a better coil, which should get you some help with idle and gas mileage as was mentioned above (althought these gains will be negligeble if at all)

I've got the factory 2.73 gears right now and recently replaced ac-delco platinum tip plugs. (with accel 8mm spiral core wires) what plugs should I get then?

From what I read, a box is useless? I am not looking for major gains, just dependability and a better idle and the like. If the box won't do this then I guess I don't want it. I should just get the MSD blaster coil or what?
