Oil Pressure at WOT????

Hey guys. I was just wondering what kind of pressure are you guys getting at WOT. When I have the stock motor it used to go up to like 60. Now it barely moves. If I'm like rolling at 50mph and I nail it. The pressure goes from like 40 to 45/50. Is that normal because I have a high volume pump???

try changing your oil man, sounds like it may be running thin.

I'm also running a melling hv on my lt4 conversion, i'm usually in the 55-60 psi @ wot. usually at cold/idle the thing is pegging the meter at 80 psi. right now i'm running mobil 1 10w-30, deleted factory oil cooler, and a napa gold oil filter.

Well Im running 10-30 right now and my motor is only 1500 miles old. Wonder if the Canton Pan has anything to do with it. When just running regular its normal. 40psi when cold then drop to about 25 when hot. On the freeway its like 40ish.

did you clearance your pickup for the canton oil pan? weld in the pickup tube to the pump to make sure it won't fall out? seat it fully in the pump?

what oil filter you running?

I'm using the pick-up that came with the pan. Got it from Nu-Tek, as a package. Well I think I got it figured out. When I put in the pump Nick advised me to put in the optional spring. Its not the high pressure spring so it probably bleeds off after 50psi or something. Cause all my other pressure is normal.

Pick-up was welded on correct? Also did you check the distance the pick-up was from the pan? That is very critical..I have the same set-up and I see about 65-70 psi at cold start and when it warms it sits right above 40psi at idle. When cruising it sets at 55-60psi..

I'm also using the high pressure spring. I didn't know you were using the low press spring, you should be alright, that states that it is for stock pressure readings.

how long ago did you change the oil? i usually notice the oil breaking down and not giving a high reading when I'm getting close to 3k miles when using conventional oils.
