I just lost all oil pressure on my car today. I'm pretty sure that the oil pump drive went bad cuz it's the third one i'm on already. initially we thought that it was a material mismatch that caused it to fail the first time, but when i tore down the engine 6000 mi ago the new one that was supposed to be compatible was starting to shell after 10,000 miles. so I replaced that one with a brass one (hard to find for LT1 oil pump drive shaft) b/c comp doesn't make a composite for LT1 shafts. now my brass one has failed after 6k. do i have some core shift issues b/c i think it should have lasted about three times that? complete failure has occured twice in last 16k wtf is up.
