oil pressure

what kind of oil pressure should i expect with 100 outside temp and all my upgrades plus 1.6 roller rockers and no fan @ 210 degrees in the motor. p.s. i just had my bottom end rebuilt with no oil gatherer in the bottom end.

Re: oil pressure

Huh? Do you mean no pickup?
Close to 20 psi at idle seems to be the norm for a street LT1. Any less than that and I would investigate.

With no baffle ya are just begging for pressure problem's when accelerating. Could lead to a blown motor.

I don't think he is talking about the pickup, he is talking about the windage tray that keeps the crank from sweeping up oil at high rpm.

Re: oil pressure

20psi is about average , and is what I would say everyone of our LT1's run at. and I wouldn't be messin' around by removing baffles or whatever ,these cars run with low pressure as is and you don't want to lose anymore oil pressure.

Re: oil pressure

That's your windage tray that attached to the mains, and yes it's a really good idea to have one.
