oil pick up

hey guys my 1995 z28 have low oil pressure at warm idel im thinking it could be the oil pick up tube. i recently replaced the oil pan gasket and maybe i hit the tube and pushed it up to far. could i possibly put a few extra quarts in it to check before pulling the pan off?
thanks, Dustyn

you gotta hit that tube hard to knock it loose. Drain the oil and hit the pan with a rubber mallet. if you hear a bounce then it's out. If not, then it isn't the problem.

Re: oil pick up

You don't want to add oil above the "full" line.... you'll whip it into a froth with the crank, and air will enter the oil system.

The common symptom of the pickup falling off would be a "0" pressure on hard stops. Having the pickup moved higher than its supposed to be would affect oil pressure more at high RPM than at idle.
