oil pan stud removal + another question.

Hey I am swapping certain items over to new motor. I previously removed all of the bolts to oil pan, but still have the studs in all 4 corners in the old block. What kind of tool do you need to remove these?

Also when putting the new oil pan gasket down for final bolt on, why is it necessary for RTV at both ends of the block? (I did not see this in the rebuilding LT1 book) I am using the 1 piece felpro gasket, and want to know if i need to rtv. If i do how much and where? I have never had to replace this gasket before , and do not want any leaks after bolting it up.

Thanks for help everybody.

e- torx is right i dont know what size. you need to use a very small amont of rtv on the block where the block and frint cover and block and rear main seal adapter meet the block. its just to keep it sealed up over the tiny gap that may be there from the mating surfaces.
