Oil Pan Gaskets

hey i was wondering what i need to do to change the oil pan gaskets? do i have to lift the motor?

not knowing what tranny you have, remove y-pipe, loosen and lower trans pan, remove pan ensuring all crank balance throws are up in the block(to provide clearence for the front lip of the pan. 1-2 hours with a lift, no lift-have fun.

take off the flexplate cover at the bottom of the trans, can't remember if you have to remove the starter, trucks you do. with the cover out of the way should be home free.

I like the Felpro gasket much better than the GM one. It provides better sealing surfaces, goes on dry (no RTV) and has molded in spacers to prevent over-tightening.

what weight of oil should i use 10-30? i got 82k

GM recommends 5w-30, and especially since you are in NB and your car is likely to be exposed to temps <0*, that's what I would go with.
