oil pan gasket

I"m not sure about that part number, but mine I got from advance, and it sounds like the exact same thing.

You definitely want a 1 piece gasket. I just did this job twice this week, and It really isn't that bad. Be sure you have the #1 piston TDC, motor mounts loose, and the motor jacked up. (I put a jack on the balancer)

If the pan doesn't come out easily, check the front of the pan. I noticed that the crank throws were rather large on this car, and I had to turn the crank a little off #1 TDC to slide the pan out, but once I found the "sweet spot" it just slid right out.

When I put the pan back on, I had no problem.

I took off the starter, oil dipstick tube, dust cover, driver side exhaust (I don't have a y-pipe, true duals),motor mount bolts, oil filter, and I think that was all.

If I can be of any help, let me know.

Good Luck

How far up did you have to jack the engine?

A couple of inches. If you jack it up too high, I don't think anything will break since there is no distributor at the back of the engine.

Let us know how it goes.

Well, I am going to have to do things a little differently because I have the tranny out right now, so it's not there to hold the engine in place. I tried pulling one motor mount bolt and jacking up the engine on one side to tilt it, but there still wasn't enough clearence to pull the pan. I am going to try rotating the crank some so that the counterweights on the crank will be out of the way, if that's what is holding it up. If that dosen't work, then I will just cut the gasket by the dipstick tube and put it in that way.

Either way, I'll let you know how I made out when it's over.

Well you can also lower the K member a little bit to gain additional clearance. HTH
