oil pan gasket

oil pan gasket

if anyone can help withthis what is the easiest way to change the oilpan gasket.. do i have to drop the cross member?

I didn't. The front cover will need to be removed first. The pan drops an inch or so. It's enough to get it on. I believe I had to remove the oil pan sensor and oil filter. Been awhile; cann't remember. I have LT's btw so you may need to remove y-pipe if you have one.

umm.........why remove the front cover???? the oil pan gasket fits into a groove in it, you should leave the cover in place

I don't understand why you would remove the front cover first, as the oil pan seals to the cover after it is installed.
