oil pan gasket

Well my car is leaking oil like mad. Anyone know how hard it is to change a oil pan gasket or a timing chain cover gasket?

I helped my friend change both a couple of months ago. You'll need to drop the cross member to get the oil pan off; we supported the engine with a Happy Hooker (bracket that mounts to the intake) and an engine hoist. Once the cross member is out of the way the oil pan gasket is easy to change. Make sure you pull the oil level sensor out of the side of the pan before you try to drop the pan. The GM gasket is not a bad piece but I like the Felpro gasket better. The timing chain cover gasket takes a lot more work as you have to pull the waterpump, opti and crank hub off. The seal for the waterpump gear should be replaced and it's a pain to get in without rolling the inner seal.

Timing chain cover seal leak not common, but water pump shaft seal, opti seal or crank seal common leak. Oil pans do leak at times and it not too bad to replace.

I would make sure its alctualy leaking from the oil pan, those gaskets are one peice silicone gaskets, the only way they are going to leak is if they were broken after a cam install or the bolts are loose
