Oil pan drop

Oil pan drop

Can I drop the oil pan down with the engine in the car? I have a 94z28.

Yes, Support the frame on jack stands and loosen the 6 K-Member bolts a few turns and it makes it easier to get off. You also may have to raise the motor as far as you can after removing motor mount thru bolts.

So if I put my car on ramps and loosen the k-member and take the motor mounts off and jack up the motor it can be done.

You have to have the wheels hanging or the K-Member won't drop down.

Where is a good place for the jack stands? I like to ask cause I dont like using them.
