oil level sensor?

what happens when this sensor goes bad? the oil level seems ok with the dipstick (but im not 100% because the bracket on the block broke off so i dont think its 100% acuarate) my lite comes on when i first start the car in the morning, but then if i shut the car and start it again its ok. seems kinda wird to me, also what is the oil capasity for a lt1? i guess ill try just changing the oil tomorrow

Re: oil level sensor?

The reason the light goes off when you immediately restart is because it checks the level after a certain length of time the engine has been shut off.
