Oil leak from water pump?

Oil leak from water pump?

is it possible for oil to leak from the bottom of the water pump? its starting to get all over the bottom front of the engine... is this a common problem? how hard to fix?

it's not coming from the waterpump. It's either a leak from the timing chain cover or the front of the intake.

It could be coming from the shaft that drives the pump. Those seal are notorious for leaking if they dont get put back on just right.

You should check out www.speeddensity.org also. There are forums specific to 93's. We would be glad to have you.

i'm positive its not coming from the intake cause one i had the gasket replaced a couple months ago and two because it doesnt start getting messy till the bottom of the water pump

it's usually not the gasket that leaks on the intake, it's the rtv in the front. It could be the waterpump drive shaft seal on the timing cover. Go to autozone and get a dye kit. Be sure to check it often because if it starts leaking all over the place then you can't tell where the dye is coming from.
