OIL LEAK. Think its coming from the cam seal.

I was told that the cam seal on my 1997 z28 camaro is leaking oil. If i take off the opti spark distributor is there a seal there?

The car has over 100,000 miles. Would it be a good idea to replace anything else while i have it apart? water pump, opti spark, etc..

Thanks

yea their is a seal their i have a write up on how to change it out! depending on how old your waterpump and hoses are and what shape they are in would be the determining factor on what you will want to change out!

No, the opti will only fit onto the locating dowel on the cam snout one way so it doesn't matter what position the crank is at.

...but the opti will not slide by the crank hub unless the engine is at 1 or 6 TDC where the wide part of the hub spokes are pointed up.

Good point, I wasn't thinking along those lines.

I bought o-rings for the water pump, but i dont see a old o-ring on it. It does'nt look like theres a spot for one to go on.
