Oil leak from the opti?
I have not had any kind of leak from my timing cover water pump drive seal. My original seal was still good at 82k miles when I replaced it as preventative maintenance during a cam install. I have had the timing cover off again since then and did not change the seal. Still no leaks. I like my mechanical pump, too.

Yea cause it's coming from the piece of $hit water pump seal.. Good luck getting that thing fixed... It will NEVER BE RIGHT.. Even if you do get it on right.. It will leak soon again... Those things are soo $hitty that I finally bypassed that hole all together and put an electric WP on!

I'd make sure I looked everything over before I go doing a 4-5 hour job and come to find out you didn't fix it!
Good luck.

But I would still get both checked out before jumping into it.

I don't exactly agree with this either. I changed my opti out and have noticed a leak underneath it too. I'm fairly certain it's the timing chain cover or the above-mentioned crank seal.
