My car was doing this too.

Dealer said it was the front seal leaking, not the opti.

They replaced both. Then again, it was a dealer...

According to the invoice:

"Tech found the front crank seal and the lower bolt for the optispark leaking oil at bolt hole."

I got the opti from jason cromer (sp) for $280.

Labor for the opti was $328
Labor for the seal was $96.58
Total parts and labor, etc. was $577

If your going to a dealer, shop around--the pontiac dealer wanted $2000 for labor on the same procedure!

Yea cause it's coming from the piece of $hit water pump seal.. Good luck getting that thing fixed... It will NEVER BE RIGHT.. Even if you do get it on right.. It will leak soon again... Those things are soo $hitty that I finally bypassed that hole all together and put an electric WP on!

pull the fans off, drain the coolant, remove the wp bolts, then pop the old seal, then spend who knows how long even trying to get the new seal on.. Which you will more than likely BREAK so then you have about 2 more on hand to try to do right I would say a couple hours.. Just cause that seal is such a PITA... I seriously got tired of it.. I got mine on and thought it was perfect and that pucker leaked AGAIN So I said screw that $hit and finally by-passed it

When you get an electric water pump.....what happens to where the stock pump is. How is that area closed off?
