yeah i noticed a slight film
it almost didnt seem like it was leaking there thats why i changed everything else first
and the oil just seemed to be on the coolent crossover tube in the back not really on the intake

You said it was on the Starter side of the motor? Is the oil coming from the Dipstick tube hole?

Also what kind of oil did you use... If your car has a leak already and you change from Standard oil to Synthetic Oil it will make the leak worse.

No I have always used standard oil, dipstick tube is about the only place I havent really paid any attention too. Yeah I have always had slight seap from the front of the pan, maybe a drop or 2 if it sits for a week or so.

6speed I have a very similar problem and it has gotten worse very quickly. I have had the car since October 17th and I have changed a valve cover gasket which was leaking but it didn't stop and it has been slow but I drove the car on a 300 mile trip last week and it got alot worse. At high rpms it blows out and causes the car to smoke. All my research has led me to believe it is the notorious intake leak. Although i have seen that partial blame is on the egr tube for putting pressure on the intake. My car has no emmisions stuff on it so I am clueless there unless it turns out the casting on my intake is bad. Which i also read is a problem. My oil pressure unit on the back of the intake is suppose to be knew but if it wasn't tightened properly it could be leaking and causing my oil pressure not to read right. But it only reads incorrectly when i idle to long and under hood temps get way to hot. I am going to pull the inatke do the intake fix and replace the sending unit at the same time since the sending unit is what i heard a pita since it is on the back side of the motor. With 9 1/2" around wrists tight places are even harder for me. Anyway new to the board glad to be here and hope to learn lots more.
