oil consumption thru throttle body possible?
#18
Alright, If your still reading this pesky oil consuption thread, thanks I have some things to add. After seeing Mikey97Z's "Intake Exploration" pics and how much volume the IAC passages may have, I ran about 2/3 can of seafoam thru the vacuum port below the t.b. where the PCV line would go. This gives me direct access to the IAC passages. I then chased that with about 1/2 can of B12. Lots of smoke no doubt, but when it was all said and done I was still burning oil.
So then I dropped the ORP's to see if the problem was on just one side or both. Guess what? No Smoke... I couldn't beleive it, I'm still skeptical. I then put only the ORP's and y-pipe back on and saw some smoke. Then hooked up the rest on the exhaust and got alot of smoke, just like before. Then I opened the dump and got some smoke out of the dump and alot of smoke out of the tailpipes. How long can some oil coating the exhaust possibly smolder? Honestly, I'm still not convinced (It did get pig rich as my BLM's climbed w/open headers: yuck: but no oil ). And I still want to check the intake bolts just for s&g. Is this possible? Should I buy a cat-back to stop burning oil? I have about 2 1/2 hours of mostly highway run time since the new PCV valve.
