Oil all over bottom back of motorand tranny?
i have like alot of smeared oil all over bottom of car but i dont leak any oil on ground and alot of dirt is collacting on the bottom on my car form this oil. Now i heard of a buletion thing or recall about the back intake seal or intake hole on back of intake both seperate issues . So how do i see if i have the notrouis intake leak or the bulletion about the intake seall leaking oil on back of motor and tranny any info would help thanks .
Take a paper towel. Stand on the passenger side of the engine, and reach behind the intake manifold, wiping the paper towel on the block, below the intake manifold. If it comes back full of grime and oil, you have the "intake manifold leak" that plagues maybe 30-40% of all LT1's. Remove intake manifold, replace the gaskets at the intake ports, and run new beads of RTV on the front and back edges of the block, where there are no gaskets. Reinstall the intake, torque to specs, and let it sit for 24 hours, undisturbed, before starting the engine.
After a couple weeks of use, check the torque on the intkae manifold bolts.
There are several online procedures that cover all the details of this repair.

Mine did exactly that too. Intake Manifold leak. It's a crappy job to fix that damn thing. If you were planning on doing any other engine work, this would be a good time. heh. I had that leak for a good year before I fixed it. I just kept adding oil. It leaked a lot too. Every night I parked it, It left a good 3" diameter puddle under the car.
Ok I found this on a web site about the Technical Service Bulletin (#476111) for the 1994 f-body now i quote
"Why has oil coated the underside of my engine and transmission?
It's most likely that the seal around your intake manifold is leaking. While it was originally thought to be the intake manifold gasket itself leaking, it's now found to be the sealant being used. The reason is a gasket is only applied to the left and right sides of the manifold while the front and back are sealed with RTV sealant. If the sealant is applied to a surface which isn't clean, the oil will be able seep through. This is why the oil leak is usually found at the rear of the engine (dripping down onto the tranny). It can be easily mistaken for a rear main seal leak. And since the RTV sealant is used on the front of the intake manifold, it's not uncommon to find it leaking there, too. A classic symptom of this intake leak is a rough cold idle. There is a Technical Service Bulletin (#476111) which calls for the replacement of intake gasket with a new and improved one, but that's to deal with a problem of the actual gasket (used on the left and right sides of the intake) laminate burning and causing a foul odor to enter the car through the ventilation system. If you have a 1994 F-Body, you might be able to get your oil leak fixed using this TSB (even though it's for a separate, but closely related problem). Otherwise, you'll have to have the dealer verify the leak which will likely be running black-light dye through the engine. The revised gasket kit is part # 12524653. "
So now my question is can i use this TSB ? to get my leak fixed for free ? an how would i go about doing this ? I will try Injuneer method to see if it got the leak iam pretty sure i do i have all the symptons. Thanks

As I see it, the TSB is for the gasket and not for the rear RTV seal where they mostly leak. A TSB is only a recommended method for repairing a problem. It is not a recall and is not done for free. You are on your own.
Sorry man.. I've been around these LT1's for a long time now.. and I don't know anyone who has gotten the leak fixed for free unless it was under warranty.
Batten down the hatches and get to workin' on it, cause they ain't gonna fix it for free.. unfortunate, but true.

I have the intake manifold oil leak. It will cost me several hundred to get it fixed, so i may just leave it there for awhile. Are there any downsides to leaving it other than having to clean oil off of the driveway? Am i loosing any power from having the leak?
I'd just like to put in my personal 2C with this problem. I had the same oil running down and getting blown back on the tranny too, but it wasn't my intake manifold. It was actually just my valve covers, the bolts had managed to come slightly loose on one side and oil was leaking out the side as it rolled down the valve covers.
Also, check the color of the oil, if its red its tranny fluid, and not your engine oil
