OH SWEET JESUS HELP ME!!! my a4 is now an a2!!!

i won't state when this started in detail (just an hour ago) because its lengthy and irrelavant...

this is what its doing....

it won't shift up out of 2nd...

in drive it wants to rev high into 2nd and then skip back down to first...

in "3" it will only go into first

it shifts perfectly, by itself from 1st to 2nd at like a stop light... but then when it gets to like 2500rpm it wants to go back down to first (this is at all throttle positions)

the only way to keep it in second is to manually put it in "2"...

what do i do? and what is wrong???

thank you so much for your help, in advance...

You gotta put it in Drive. J/K, actually obivously check the fluid first. Not enough fluid will make the car not shift outta second. Could also be an electronic problem....check these first...

i checked the fluid immediatly... and again when i got home... both times it was fine... matter of fact it was over-full... and i checked the oil to see if it was leaking into the tranny...

I have the same problem exactly. My fluid is burnt though. Is yours?, if not probably just the solenoid. mine I suspect is the 3-4 clutch pack melted and burnt. going with a race prepped 4l60-E 700 exchanged from a local guy. will hold up to 675 HP and he warranties it for 12 months
