Oh $hit!!! Borla Owners Come In Please!

After I paid 350.00 for my magnaflow catback,my buddy got a brand new Borla catback off ebay for 385.00 shipped. I have some questions,(1)how exactly does changing the plates affect the sound? I mean do you take one off and put another on,or is it like a cutout?(2) Which plate are you using? He wants a aggressive deep tone that isn't loud but not quiet either. I've herad that Borla has a nice deep tone with little or no rasp. Damn why didn't i wait!!

I use the smallest plate in the winter just so that the smoke comes out both sides equally when its cold. But I love the Borla and its ability to adjust. Remember, Loud pipes save lives!

I noticed no difference in tone or volume when using the plate with the smallest hole all the way to running it with no plate at all on my last Z. Seemed to sound the same both inside and outside the car to me. Either way, it is a fairly loud cat-back.

Only the full block-off plate changes the tone/volume(very quiet) IMO.

$385 for a new Borla =

I like the tips the most. Everyone around here has those 3.5 slash cut tips, including me. The muffler looks like it is straight through,i don't see a single in dual out, looks like a single/single,is it. I tried to listen to a sound clip of it,but i figured that it wouldn't really give me a proper impression of it. If anyone has sound clips post them. His car is stock,so i figure that it would sound good regardless of whether or not the car is modded. Hmm,wonder if he would trade.

When switching from the smallest plate to no plate there was not a huge difference in sound or power. There seemed to be a annoying drone at about 3000rpm with no plate. I keep the smallest plate.

Raspy? yea, but not too bad. Sounds awesome wide open though
