Odd LT1 Engine Knock Question
Odd LT1 Engine Knock Question
I bought a ‘95 Trans Am LT1 auto car, and I have an odd question. I bought this car and it has low compression on cylinder 8, and hits every couple of rotations. With the misfire, the PCM is showing many knocks. It also has a code 43, Knock Sensor KS Circuit. I’m in the middle of building an LS1 for the car, so it won’t be an LT1 much longer, so that leads to my question.
Is the knock sensor code due to the misfire, or because the sensor is actually bad? Is there anything I can do to temporarily drive it, despite the misfire?
I really want to temporarily drive the car around the block occasionally while building my new engine, but the timing is so retarded and it backfires when the timing drops.
