ocasional miss with new motor

I just picked up my car yesterday with the new 383 and drove it home about 70 miles and it ran absolutely flawless. I pulled into the local cruise in and it set there for a few hours. Then when I started it to leave it suddenly had an erratic idle(about 400-1400) and quickly died. Started it again, same thing. Drove it on home and it would drive fine for a while then all of a sudden start surging and backfiring. So I just parked it for the night.

Got in it this morning to go for a drive and it ran GREAT! No missing no nothing. Drove it around for at least 25-30 min. Then just as I pulled back into the plats where I live it started to surge and pop.

Totally stumped

well I started doin some lookin around and found that the plastic harness for the driver side O2 was literally pinched between the inner fender well and the header primary. It is now TOAST it has the radius of the header tube melted into it. Would that cause it to act like I discribed?

It would make sense to me to repair/replace your burned up wiring and re-evaluate the situation.
