rev limit?

rev limit?

My Crane ignition arrived today and i was wondering what the rev limiter should be set to. It's already at 5500 but I think that soumds a little low.

Your PCM should have a stock rev limiter programmed in, If i'm not mistaken that has to be reprogrammed before you can set a higher limit.

Would the limiter in the box override if it is lower than the one on the pcm or can i just leave it alone?

The lower of the 2 limits will work first, if it is a stock motor then you have no real reason to raise the rev limit, its there for a reason.

What's the stock limit? I am just trying to figure out where to set the one on the ignition box, I don't plan on raising the limiter on the PCM.

my 94 is 5800 or 5850.

Stock LT1 rev limiter is 5800.
