OBDII Inspection ? and Free Mods
I went to get my car inspected yesterday and she failed inspection due to an OBDII Command In Failure. They said that since the SES light does not come on and flash when you turn the key to start that it failed. I know there is nothing wrong with the car, they ran diagnostics on it and there were not any trouble codes. The wiring under the dash seemed fine, not broken or overly tangled, disconnected, etc. They told me they could not get a reading but I had them check the codes at autozone and it read the computer fine. So my ? is does anyone know what could be the problem. I tried reseting the computer by means of disconnecting the battery. That did not do anything. I know on my 93 V6 I reset the computer another way but I forgot. If this is possible on my 97 Z28 please let me know. Other than that any ideas or thoughts as to what is goin on?
My other ? is what are the different free mods can I do to my Z (1997), that will not chance throwing a code? I used to know them front and back and then got away from this stuff and forgot. Thanks for all the help. And parts needed to do these mods would be helpful. If there is a website for them like there used to be that would be nice too. Thanks again.

A recently resetted PCM will not pass emissions, it must go through the full drive cycle.
Most free mods are BS and can actually make the car run worse. The TB bypass is one of the few proven ones though.
