OBD1 Manual Fan Switch?

I have all the parts to do my own manual fan switch, but I need to know where to connect my +12v from my LEDs? Cigarette light? I keep hearing about how you shouldnt connect the +12v to certain places or your fans will stay on even when the ignition is off? I'm really confused on that part. Also, where did you ground?

ANY help would be appreciated!!

With the above diagram, you are only using the 12v to power the LEDs. Ground is what is used to operate the relays, so it is very safe.

Do you have to make a new ground? Or can you use the ground for like the radio or cigarette lighter?

Also, what gauge wire is typically used when splicing the green and blue wires?

A ground is a ground. It dosent matter if you ground to the roof, it all goes the same place, the ground.

The lighter ground is fine. 20ga wire will do. There is very little current going through the wires.
