Question Not a REAL problem, but curious

Ok, this has baffled me for a couple of months now. When the weather is colder than like 50 degrees my car seems to have to work a little harder in normal driving. Like it has to hit higher rpm's to what it does perfectly in warmer weather. Like I said, not a big deal but it's driving me nuts not being able to figure it out.
The only thing I can come up with is the AIT, but I really have no idea! Thanks for any help you can give.

Cooler the air, the better it should run, so the only thing I can think of off hand would be oil. Long shot, but maybe your oil is too viscous.

As I said, its a long shot.

I wish it was that easy. I use Mobil 1 5W30 just like I should. Can't figure it out, but thanks!

What about 02s? They need to be up to temp in order to provide the proper feed back during closed loop ( I think). Perhaps your setup doesn't let them warm up properly during colder weather. Hell, I don't know.

Keep us tuned in on this dilemma.

Are you talking about before the car is fully warmed up? If so, the tranny will have higher shift points untill the ECT reaches operating range. That could account for your observation. otherise, I have no idea.

Has crossed my mind, but even after the car has reached running temp and tranny is up to 170 (have guage) it's the same. Today is supposed to be over 60 degrees. I'll bet it's perfect all day!

Ok, right on the nose. It's been in the 60's here for two days and the car has performed like new. Not acting funny at all, this is driving me nuts!!!
