Nominal operating temperature? Is this too hot?

Haha, well, it's already in there. I THINK it was the longer design. I think the fans are supposed to come on at 226, how can I reprogram them to come on at 180 or so?
The most elegant method is to have the settings changed in the computer.

Haha, but I have no means of doing it myself. I called two dealerships and asked the guys about what temperature my car should be running at during the summer. Both said 210. The temp stays between the very middle line and the line after it. I know I've said this before, but should I worry about this or not?

Personally, I don't enjoy seeing a high-compression motor, like the LT1 run that high of a temp.

There's a do-it-yourself on Brent Franker's site that tells you how to jump the fan relays so that they always stay on.

I'd rather just program the fans to come on at 200, but if they were on all the time, how would that affect everything? Performance, et cetera.

i think the lowest you can program the fans to turn on in the pcm is 190*....
fyi, i have a stock thermo, CSI, fans at 190 and it will barely rise over the 1st 1/4 mark on the guage (CSI didnt change the temp at all, its the same as before it got put on)

i wouldnt worry about your temp too much as long as the fans kick on and knock it back down when they are suppose to
if it doesnt drop when the fans come on thats when i'd worry

but it is nice to have the cooler temps in there!

My temp doesn't really go past 1/4 much and it was 85 degrees here and humid today. Remember there are two fans. One that goes on when it reaches a certain temp i think 226 was mentioned and the other fan goes on when you turn your A/C on. My firebird had a fan broken and i would actually drive with the A/C on all the time to keep it at 1/2 and if i turned it off it was a pinch over 3/4 but never red.

Hmm..My A/C doesn't work though. And my fans turn on and drop the temperature, so, that's good.
