ok wait a minute....im starting to get confused....i used mobil 1 ATF in my MANUAL tranny....was that a bad thing?? was a sopposed you use gear fluid or something?? i heard that i was ok to use ATF.... but some of you say yes and some say no...so what is it???

also..i refilled it a bit more..till it started to pour out....seems i was ineed short of oil...the noise is still there but much less appernt.
i would presume though that because it is synthetic rather that the regular kind of oil it would be thinner...thus making more noise ..right???

the noise actualy is comming from the tranny itself....under the car.. kinda sounds like chattering or something but i have also heard that the t56 is a noisy tranny ...what do you guys think?

 

You are supposed to use ATF in the M6. If you check the sticker on the tranny it will say what to use. As previously stated DexronIIE is what is listed. That is ATF, and the mobil 1 synth meets those requirements.

I also noticed a little more noise after switching. Not a lot, but enough to be annoying.
