It's not the starter that makes the click noise. It's coming from down in the dash. I believe its the vats module that makes the noise. It ticks just one time. I am getting no security light, nor does the SES light come on when i turn the key to the ON position.

 

This same thing happened to me last week. Turns out the clutch safety switch went bad. I had to make a jumper wire to fix it temporarly.

Use a test light to see if power is getting to the starter. Then check if power is on both terminals of the clutch safety switch with the clutch depressed. If the security light isn't on, your problem has nothing to do with the Vats system.

 

Here's what happened...

The car that everything came out of (dash, interior, engine, tranny, etc) had been flipped over. The fire department had pulled out the crank fuse from the fuse box. Thats all.
