No oil pumping up cold weather??
No oil pumping up cold weather??
Well the cars still down because we though I had a bad batt/wires.. so we took off the starter, cables ,battery inspected tested checked out fine... had to put in a truck's 350 dipstick due to my old one wasnt seating good and was letting oil blow by
anyways to the problem car has 10-30W Regular Castrol... been sitting for 1-1.5 week without a crank and its 40+/- Degrees.....so we turn it over until it gets to 45 Oil pressure but still no oil spraying up to the heads? i imaigne the cold weather is playing a part in this? btw car is also jacked up on 2 stands under the K-member

You'll never get oil up to the heads just cranking. Sometimes it takes minutes to get oil up there at idle. If it's all brand new, you should have poured some of your new oil onto the valvetrain before putting the valve covers on.
Excactly, when I rebuilt an older SBC 2 years ago I got really worried before I fired it up for the first time as when I primed it with a drill and an oil pump drive I didn't get oil coming out of the pushrods to lub the rockers,,, it was all fine it fired up and oil finally came out but shoebox is right
