Re: no oil pressure???

Is the pickup height correct?

Was it picking up oil when you were priming the pump that you could see?

Re: no oil pressure???

Your pump is driven by the oil pump drive gear assembly.. this bolts in under the intake manifold where a conventional SBC distributor driveshaft would end up going.

Did you pull the intake manifold and make sure this driveshaft is not broken for any reason? It is made of plastic and can break...

..plus you can use an oil pump primer tool while you have the intake off, to see if your pump is working...

Ya can pull the intake and pull the plastic OP drive out with the engine in the car. Just a lot of work but not as much as pulling it out again.
Ya might find something wrong with the cam gear too.

Like LR said.. can be done with the motor in the car.. no problems.

It's a pain but I've got intake manifold removal down to about 40 minutes now with it in the car

Re: no oil pressure???

i know the oil pump shaft moves cause i put a socket on the front pulley and rotated the engine while i had the engine out and the shaft moved along with it? it was kind of funny how it lost it in the first place? cause wheni went to work it had fine oil pressure and when i got out of work it had none. Has anyone else ever heard of something happeneing like that and is there a solution? thanks
