no oil pressure

Hey.
I am just finishing up on my car. I put in JBA headers with OR Y pipe, a cutout and 3" pipe to the muffler. I also put in a new oil pan (which leaks) and cannot get any oil pressure. I think it may be my sensor. My Z is a 93 and I have heard that the sensor is above the oil filter on the left side of the block. I don't believe it was disconected at any point in time, and was working before I took the old pan off. The car is completely back together and I really don't want to take it all off again. It ran fine reading no pressure, leading me to believe that its the sensor. In this case, what should I do? What are other possible reasons for this?

You may have just broken your sensor and it is a common problem. Try replacing that, if that doesn't work trace the wireing before opening the pan back up. Or a worst case scenerio would be that you used rtv on your "install dry" gasket. That would both make it leak and possibly clog the pickup screen. This is the reason that you use anhabolic (spelled something like that) sealent on cork oil pan and water pump gaskets so that you don't develop these problems.

What exactly does your guage say when my sensor was broke it showed the oil pressure guage all the way past 80.

Hook up a mechanical guage and check it

The guage should move a little bit.

You might have had to unplug it to get the headers in and forgot to reconnect it or it may be loose.

Hey.
My gauge does nothing when I fired it up. We let it run for a few minutes and it still didn't read anything. So I shut it off and pushed it back in the shop. Where could I get ahold of a testor for it? I am extremely tight on money (junior in high school and my parents won't pay for anything) and buying a new sensor, without needing it would be bad for me. I think I found where it is leaking. There are two tiny dents close together (it leaks on the driver side) and I think I will have them weld a small piece on it if they can without taking the pan off. I didn't use anything on the new gasket and kept it as clean as possible when I put it on.
