No Lockout for Reverse with new M6??

I just got a new (used) M6 installed in my T/A after my old one bit the dust. Now for some reason it doesnt have the reverse lockout when the car is in motion and I sometimes hit reverse on accident when going into fifth. Is there some connection for the reverse lockout solenoid that they forgot to connect, or was there a year that it didnt have that?? I dont know what year the trans is but I will find out this weekend. Any thoughts or ideas on this would help. Thanks.

AFAIK all T56 for Fbodys have a reverse lockout...it could be something as simple as the sensor not being plugged in the tranny.

Driver's side right below the base of the shifter.

BUT, if it's allowing you to get to reverse at all times this is not your prob. You may have to disassemble it and clean it out. Mine sticks once and awhile allowing me to shift into R as well.

So how could I disassemble it to clean it out? Could I do that from the top?? Thanks for the info so far.
