No ignition feed to PCM? Wiring gurus inside!

96 LT1 in 93 Formula using 96 harness

Allright, I finished the body work and I've come back to the motor. Basically, I pulled the connectors off my PCM and looked for grounds and hots. I noticed that I was getting battery feed to the PCM but no ignition feed.

No voltage from
D3-PCM ignition feed
B2-Low Res signal
B14-Distributor ignition feed
B20- High res signal
B30- PCM ignition feed

The Security light does not stay on and the starter spins the motor but I'm getting no fuel or fire.

Since the car is a 93 does some extra wire have to be run for the PCM?

I'm getting desperate since I got a deadline coming up! Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Oh, the coil, ICM, PCM, opti, FP relay, and FP are new.

Thanks

Re: No ignition feed to PCM? Wiring gurus inside!

I assume where you mention D3-PCM ignition feed that you are refering to the pink wire going to third pin of the blue PCM connector correct?

That voltage is supplied by a 10 amp fuse to that pin, pin 30 of the black PCM connector as well as the transmission and the EGR solenoid.

My first question is when you changed out the harness did you also transfer the I/P fuse block as well? Confirm the pink wire goes to a fuse and the fuse has power to it.

The rest of the signals you listed should fall in line once you have that problem resolved. Let us know if we can help further.

No, I did not swap fuse blocks, what is involved in doing that?

Is it possible to place a PCM fuse in the old 93 fuse block (ABS has been removed) and run my own wire to the PCM or to another point to supply ignition feed.

Thanks

how is that 96 harness connected to the 93 car, since the 93 has 1 connector on the fender and the 96 has 2?

this is probably where your are getting no power

Sure you can, find out where the pink wire ends up and pull a seperate line from a switched source to an inline fuse holder. Be sure the other items are connected to it as well.

439 Pink
Is it possible to use that small plastic wire divider on the passenger that the battery + attaches to and connect a wire to that and run it to the PCM just to see if I can get something?

What do you mean by switched source?

by switched, he means it has to be hot in start and run only, IE, ignition switch

Sorry, but I'm a bit confused, you're saying that by running a line from my ignition switch with an inline fuse and splicing that into the pink ignition feed wire(s) I should get ignition feed to the PCM?

No... they are saying that in the fuse box, you have to select a source for the new circuit that is "switched"..... only hot when the ignition switch is on. There's actually a small square hole in the fuse block, with a male spade lug in it, labeled "IGN". That is a switched power source. But it is limited to 10A.

All right, I found the "IGN" fuse block. Now, am I supposed to put a female spade attachment on one side of a fuse, attach the fuse to the male spade lug and run that wire to 439 Pink? How do I send power to both D3 and B30?

Run ALL of the wires (D3 and B30 also) off the same source as the 439 pink.
Tie them all together on the one terminal.

So can I cut the two wires before they reach the PCM, connect them, and then run a wire from the ignition fuse to the combined wires?

Whatever way is easiest for you to get that power to all wires.
