No fuel pressure

I am getting my 1993 Z28 back into shape after sitting in the garage for over a year and when going to start her up, I see I have no fuel pressure. I do not hear a whirring noise when I turn the key to ON. I applied 12V to the fuel pump prime connector and still no pressure. Could it be a possibility that my fuel filter is clogged so much as to allow no pressure or is it definitely the pump? The fuel in the tank is a couple years old, but even with a clogged filter it would seem to me that there would be at least SOME pressure.

Thoughts?

Well if your not hearing any prime then there is a good chance it's toast but if you think the pilter might be causing some of the issue it's a ten dollar part so you could try that first or just dissconnect the filter and try to prime it again..

No pump noises...no pressure. It's the pump. Check the fuses and relays and, if they are good, replace the pump. The pump relay is under the plastic 'dead pedal'

Be sure to replace the filter as well.....

I was almost positive it was the pump, too, but it helps to have somebody agree with me. New pump and filter going in today. Thanks!

That did it! Changing the pump is still a pain in the ***, even with the "easy-access" cutout.

Yes it is...but less so than dropping everything to do it the GM way...

Glad it worked out for you, enjoy!
