I was going to go with the bottle, but since it costs 40-50 bucks per fillup-depending on location, it adds up really quick. I would much rather have the power al the time when I'm driving. So I think the best is turbo, you can even turn down the boost when its not needed, so you save on the engine. Those kits from that turbo place look nice, but are so expensive, only cheap for the mustang guys. I see they even have the low cost packages for them at only 3 grand. Anyone know of any other turbo companies that are priced cheaper.

Will turbo destroy the engine as fast as the blower setup? Also who besides NOS sells the dry setup. My friend said that you can pass smog with a wet setup. You just wouldn't pass the visual part with it. I was talking to this guy and he said he could get me the any NX kit for cheap. He is a NX distributor. He told me he could get me the new direct port for like $750. Would this be better the the regular wet setup? Again, thanks for the replies.

a blower will be more "damaging" than a turbo since turbo can boost can be turned down.

turbo also doesn't draw hp/increase load by turning on a crank.

why the hell wouldn't you pass emissions with any nitrous system on there? just dont spray on the damn sniffer

You'll definatly pass the sniffer like your friend said but on these types of cars the tech will more than likely look around under the hood. If you know of someone who doesn't care about what's under the hood just the sniffer then go ahead and get the wet. But if you don't then go dry and have the CARB sticker handy or put it on the car. I know it sounds like a bunch of b.s. but California isn't really mod friendly and it sucks for us unless you know someone.

Well is there any company that sells a dry kit besides NOS? Also which wet would be better direct port or the regular NX? This is gonna be for a 100 to 150 shot.

NEX and it looks like Edelbrock. The NEX only goes to 125. From what I've heard direct port is better, but don't quote me on that. Try a new thread in the power adder section.

Direct port is just that. directly injecting the nitrous to each individual port. Much more accurate that just spraying through a throttle body and crossing your fingers

which would be best if u build a 383 just for that purpose. What would make the most power reliabely.

it really depends

150 or under you really dont need direct port.

50 and under you dont even need wet.

Direct port systems are the ****... and they look cool as **** too

i would go with the n2o set up. great amount of power only when you need them. pretty simple. n2o + bottle opener + all the safety stuff wont blow your engine away if you stay below 100 wet shots. get NX kit. worth the money.

I meant that if you build a 383 with all forged components specifically for a blower or specifically fornitrous which would be best i wasnt talking about wet vs. dry vs. direct port

Get the NX wet. At smog time just put the schrader valve back in and remove the fuel side of the n20 system and tell them it's dry, if they ask.
Search ebay or the boards for a CARB sticker. Maybe someone could even make one for you.

I was just thinking about this post. Go with the wet kit and if you have too just remove whatever doesn't pass smog. It's only every two years right? That's what I was going to do with long tubes. Two years is quite awhile and I think performance wise it would be worth it. I should of thought of this sooner.

Okay well i will go with the wet then. But if i could get the direct port for a real good price should i get that instead and just use a 100 shot. Or is it only for higher shots. Also how exactly does the smog work. Is it 2 years since the last time it was smogged, or is it since you got it registered. So say for instance i got the car smogged 6 months ago, and i was about to put some long tubes on my car. Could i get it smogged right before i get them installed and then have 2 years? Or would i still only have 1 1/2 years.
