Newbie here......

Please forgive my ignorance, but I've been out of the car scene for about 20 years now. My last car was a 72 Chevelle SS and technologically it was a dinosaur compared to my latest acquisition. I now have a 95 LT-1 Z-28 with only 96,000 miles. The only thing that's ever been done to this car was normal tune ups and the a few thousand ago, the opti distributor was replaced. And it has a K&N. Other than that, it's stock and unmolested (but I think it's time someone like me did some molesting he, he, he!).

I've been researching my best options for bumping it up to about 400+ hp, and according to the posts I've been reading here, it seems the general consensus is to go with LE2 package, however I don't know what that is. What is the LE2 setup and where do I find such a thing? Originally I was looking at and considering the LT4 setup because I liked the idea of the complete kit, but when I started reading posts I came to the conclusion that I don't think it's going to be enough to satisfy my lust. I'm looking for just a bit more but a "package" or kit to take out the guess work of picking parts individually would be perfect for someone like me.

Also, the below post discussing Building a reliable 400 rwhp LT1 has some good ideas and is right on point for me, but I don't know what abreviations like CC306, TEA, and AI stand for.

Welcome. Many questions can be answered by using the "Search" function. As a starting point you need to decide the type of driving you expect to be doing. When you say 400 HP, are you talking about crank or rear wheels? There is a difference. M-6 or A4 (Transmissiions).

Lots of abbreviations and not everyone knows all of them. There are some people on here that are gurus when it comes to these cars and car in general.
E.g. Injuneer, Shoe (see his site at Shbox.com)

CC 306 just means Comp Cam 306. So CC just means Competition Camshafts.

Once you are a bit more specific on your needs, including your abilities, money, etc. You have come to the right site. The more specifice you are in your needs/wants the better responses you will receive. JMHO

LE= Lloyd Eliot. He is a member here and is know for making big HP LT1 packages.

CC306= Crane Cams, 306 is the serial number of the cam.

AI= im not sure, probaby a head porter similar to LE.

Send a pm(private message) to LE and tell him what you want. Do this by finding a post of his an right clicking his signature and scroll down to where it says "send a private message".

Is your car an auto or 6 speed? If its an auto your also going to bee looking at a performace rebuild and a stall converter, if its a 6speed, start looking into bigger clutches.

You also need to look into getting bigger injectors and a fuel pump, and a tune to see 400 rwhp.

I would start off with a cold air intake (CIA) and long tube headers. Two things you will most definatly need to see the numbers you want.

Hope this helps! Have fun with your new ride!
