I have passed emissions in Northern Virginia (treadmill two speed test) with Hooker LTs and dual cats, and have a friend with the same cam who has also passed in Northern Virginia. But I've also heard of people repeatedly failing when the cam was ground on a 112 LSA. If you are worried about emissions, I'd stick with the 114 LSA version. The car has a noticeable lope even with the 114 LSA. In general, the wider LSA will spread the power band out so that it makes better power way down low and way up high, but it's weaker in the midrange. The 112 LSA would make a better street cam because its torquier, but I don't think you lose much at the strip with the 114 LSA.

Bryan
I have ported heads. I'm sure the car will run fine with a 224/230 and stock heads, but I don't think you'll gain much if anything over a 218/230 except worse drivability and a choppier idle.

Based on what I've seen in other people's cars over the years (I've had this cam for 3 years), I'd go CC EE 218/230/114 in a stock headed car and CC EE 224/236/112 in a ported head car (assuming you're not worried about emissions or low speed drivability).

Thanks for the info Rich. Good luck with your car

I cant wait for gears and some drag radials. Plus I will be needing a tune soon because I just got an emission notice in the mail somehow I thought I was exempt

Good times man.

You know there are people running low 12's with just bolt ons and DR's. Also a little weight reduction thrown in there.

Man, I was happy to hear that with my MPH I could run mid 12s with a 1.8ish 60ft compared to the 13.2 with a 2.3. But now Im a little dissapointed that you ran that good with a 2.3 60ft, maybe if I could hold on to the gears longer (6500 rev limiter) I could pull into the 12s right now.

Thanks man I think the key is that my car has no options and its a formula. I have no airbags, no ac, no sparetire, aluminum driveshaft, no air or egr, no power anything. Plus I only weigh 130 so its pretty light.
