New Times on 224/230 XE

Stock last year the best I could get was a 13.995 @ 103
Now I have mods in sig. The heads I ported myself and I ran a 12.7@111.66 with a 2.3 60'. My question is What would my time be around with a 1.8 60' or so. That was on a street tire and some cold weather

thanks for the replies yeah I still need to get sfcs and a torque arm and swap in the 4.10s. Hey do you think with 4.10s I could hit 11s or is that out of the picture

You could get a 1.8 sixty with some drag radials. I don't prefer 4.10s, as they're too thin for hard launches. You wouldn't gain much with them, as they're for narrow powerband engine, and you've got that nnnnnice 224/230 XE, which is a killer cam, with a very fat torque curve!
With my calculations, if you could cut an 1.8 sixty, your ET would be around 11.95
Hell....12.7 with a 2.3 60' is killer, MAN!! Get that 60' down!

Here's some good data points for you. My 95 Z28 M6 with the same cam (but on a 114 LSA) went 12.9@109 with 3.42s. I installed 4.10s and dynotuned it (gained 15 rwhp) and it went 12.7@113 w/1.87 60-foot. Now that I've got ET Streets and some more practice driving I'm running 12.2s@113 w/1.7 60-foots. I don't powershift or launch higher than 4500 rpm and am not a very fast shifter. You should see 11s with gears/suspension and practice.

Not bad times at all.

Your biggest problem is going to be your rearend starting to act up.

I could see you going 12.4's leaving decent and not powershifting.

RichJ, Untamedls1, those are some pretty good times for those mods!

I don't go to the track and wanted good overall street performance on a daily driver. So I recently selected and installed (last week) the milder EX 218/224/112 cam. I've been very pleased, but when I see your times I feel a bit jealous.

I guess one can't have it all.

Rich and Untamed, I noticed yall are from VA and Illinois. I was wondering if either or you have passed emissions with that cam? Also, i know that a higher lsa reduces emissions, but how does it effect performance?

Do you have stock heads with this setup? I want to do this cam but I want to keep my heads stock for now. What are you guys opinions on this. I know guys have CC306s with stock heads so this cam should work to right? Thanks

I am exempt from emissions because my car is a rebuilt title, otherwise its just the OBD2 scan test here now so as Long as I dont set an emissions related code which I could turn off with LT1 edit anyway I will pass emissions. Well with my rev limiter set at 6500 rpms I can come across the line in 3rd gear but I try not to because I dont wanna hurt the bottom end so I just upshift it. With 4.10s I think I would come across at the top of 4th.Hmm I cant decide what I wanna do gear wise. I can shift fast and can consistantly pull .50... Rts so I am curious what Ill run in a good situation. I appreciate all the posts guys thank you very much.

I have been waiting for a post like yours to see what the potential is for that cam. I am due to install that cam with LT4 ported heads within the next month.
Very nice results.
