I got a new TEFLON rear main seal and Im ready to install it. The gasket is in place and u don't put sealant on that right, well the rear main comes with a installer but the damn thing will not go on the car, I have the housing off and put the seal in the housing and trying to install but it wont go. Any suggestions and do I lube it up first?

 

even with teflon you have to oil a seal and the surface good to get it on.

 

not sure, but I had them open the boxes for me to match up with the old one and the teflon one wasn't even close to matching. This was at autozone where they had two parts listed for the seal.

 

COOL! WD40 did the trick. I got this at autozone and it's teflon, it seems smaller because it has the ridges on it that stick out further and it does work, should hold up better than the rubber. THanks
