New pump new problem

pump went bad in my sig car, bought a new airtex pump and bucket, and installed it. The car runs great untill you come to a stop, it will drop rpm and stumble for a few seconds and then recover. It seems like it might be getting to much gas now and is smothering itself out. I adjusted the throttle blades out a little and the stumble has imroved, I am just wondering if this is a normal adjustment with a new pump or if i have another problem to find

Best thing to do is to monitor your fuel pressure at the fuel rail (attached a gauge to the schrader valve. You can tape it to the windshield and drive around to observe your fuel pressure under load.
