OK here is a strange and probably ignorant question. I have a 93 and would like to have the advantages of the 94+, that mainly being the ability to use a scannmaster or any of the other PCM monitoring and reprogramming goodies. Is there a way to change from a 93 (chip) setup to a 94+ PCM setup or do the costs outwiegh the benefits?

Switching over to a 94+ PCM will not be cost effective. You will need a whole bunch of things including a new harness, new pcm, etc.

You can use TTS Datamaster for scanning on a '93 car without any problems. The chip will be harder to reprogram by yourself though.

Thanks for the info, I'm assuming that the data collected from the Datamaster (is this just software for a laptop and a serial cable to hook up to the connector under the dash?) would be instrumental in dialing in the tuning along with Dyno data? I'd like to avoid sending chips back and forth for a year.

You can find out more about Datamaster by going to their website: www.ttspowersystems.com (but to answer your question, yes, it is software but the best there is for this purpose in my opinion)
The cable you can get from Andrew Mattei at www.akmcables.com
He is also a Datamaster distributor and so you can order both at the same time from him.

By Dyno data you mean wideband o2 readings, correct?

Are you gonna list the core charge for those who can do the swap to minimize downtime?

Yes, the core charge is $75 and the service fee for the exchange is $10. You have 30 days to return your old one back to me.

The payment for the core charge needs to be done separately so that once I receive your PCM back I can go into the paypal account and click refund on that specific transaction. You will get a clean $75 back this way. (no paypal fees deducted from it)

how much for an obd2->obd1 conversion, I want to be able to program myself and the obd2 software is expensive.

Also, would you be interested in buying my obd2 pcm and if so, how much would that take off of the price.

The complete kit is $225 shipped. This includes the modification to work with your OBDII knock sensor, custom programming and shipping. Pretty much plug and play, 5 minute install.
If you don't want custom programming, it will be cheaper.

No, I'm sorry, unfortunately I don't. At this moment at least.
You can always try and sell it on the board though.

no problem, couldn't hurt to ask!
I'll be sure to keep you in mind when I need it done, or more like when I have the money to buy obd1 lt1edit.
