New Oil pan gasket?

Should I buy a new oil pan gasket when I install my Canton oil pan here in a few weeks? Didnt know if it would be necessary or not..

Thanks

go ahead and replace it while you are there that way you know that you do not have to worry about it. They are only $30 so why not.

Make sure you completely clean the block gasket surface. The stock gasket is "glued" to the timing cover and the rear main seal adaptor channel. Make sure you get all that crap off. You may want to also run a thin bead of Ultra Black RTV in the same area. Don't over tighten the bolts when reinstalling the canton pan as that will ruin your oil pan gasket.
